My wife’s name is Diane and my name is Clyde. In 1982, as I began to pray one day and thank God for His faithfulness, I could hear, in my head, the little “ABC” song. The Alphabet Prayer, shown on the left, came out in poem form and in alphabetical order. I cried, I prayed, I wrote. I did not create The Alphabet Prayer, I just sat there and received it. About six months passed, and one day my wife, Diane, began reading the verses for Teacher, Pastor, Mother and people’s names and they all read in poem form. This was the beginning of the personalized Prayer Names. God continued to add more Prayer Verses and we now have over two hundred. When giving the Prayer Name as a gift, people can add their personal message to truly make this a Keepsake Name that will remain special for years to come.
WHERE IT BEGAN
TOUR OUR ORIGINAL BROCHURE
In 1987 we did our first craft show and our first group fund raiser, however, I continued working full time at my carpentry job as my wife continually “encouraged” me to do more with the Prayer Names. With her help, and God’s blessing, beginning in June of 1995 we did six county fairs in eight weeks and began doing more craft shows and group fund raisers, as well as the regular gift giving for all occasions. That was the beginning of my full-time work with Keepsake Names. Our first brochure was sent out for Christmas 1995 and the word about Keepsake Names continued to spread. We did not start out looking for people to promote Keepsake Names; people would come up and ask “How can I get involved?”
CONTINUING OUR MISSION
WELL-With much, much prayer, and hours of planning, starting in 1997 we added home shows to the way we present the Prayer Names, and along with group fundraisers, craft shows, Christian events, individual contacts and other ways. We are happy to say that as of September, 1997, Keepsake Names Prayer Names were promoted by others in several other states with the same success and blessing we have received. Even in many Christian bookstores you can see the evidence of an increasingly impersonal world. We find that along with the uniqueness of Keepsake Names Prayer Names™ is also the emphasis on the personal touch. People who purchase at our shows love to read and choose the Prayer Verses for the Names, the pictures, and many add personal messages. They really do help create each Prayer Poem. You will enjoy “brightening up” someone’s day as they are introduced to Keepsake Names Prayer Names™.
